Whether your kitchen is eight feet by eight feet or twenty feet by twenty feet, it needs organization. And thankfully, the tools for organizing your kitchen can be found in many sizes. If you have a smaller kitchen, some of the handiest kitchen storage items are shelf inserts, and over the door shelves. These maximize the storage capacity of each cabinet. I personally like the over the door holder for my aluminum foil and plastic wrap.
Run a Shelf If you have a wall in your kitchen that does not have any cabinets on it then it is the perfect place for you to run a shelf. Running a shelf will allow you to put whatever you wish on that shelf and will free up a great deal of extra space in your kitchen. Kitchens, per square foot, often contain more stuff than any other space in the home, with the possible exception being the bedroom closet. Fortunately, there are a lot of options when it comes to utilizing space in the kitchen, as long as you know what they are. When many professionals discuss maximizing the storage space in a kitchen, they would advocate adding an island to the middle of the kitchen, which also means tearing down walls to open up the space as a whole, or addition more shelving units in empty spaces. However, these tips require some major construction in order to be completed. Not everyone has the time, money, or know how to undergo such a project on a whim, more importantly, they should not have to. Here are 2 tips to help you maximize your kitchen storage space.
